![]() Music Buff Effect do not stack with currently-equipped main-hand weapon to prevent stacking a second instrument to play a music buff. For every rank, increases magic recovery by 1 % of intelligence (Up to a MAX of 10%, Voice of Vitality not affected). Enables the use of Bard related skills (Fantastic Chorus + Dischord). Now, if Harmonic Saints got 3 additional skills like:Īmplifier - Harmonic Saint Stance skill - Amplify musical effects and harmonic skills with equipped instrument (Chosen Equipped Instrument can be Managed on Amplifier Skill Menu like how Glyph Evocation skill has a Manage button, and music buffs will scale as if that instrument is equipped on your main-hand instead of a wand or staff). Even then, Harmonic Saint wants to heavily invest in Arcana Links - which is a huge expense to boost their support power, rather than just naturally have the class be strong on its own without paying over 7.5m - which is a large sum and time commitment even without including the cost of Smoldering crests. Rather than say Harmonic Saint is a combination of Bard and Cleric, it just feels like an update of what the Cleric talent should have been. ![]() It's like having Dark Knight ranking up "Taming Wild Animals" skill to strengthen their "Control of Darkness" skill. There is no "upside" to having bard skills other than simply ranking them (GM Bard requirement basically). Other classes can already use bard buffs without a weapon due to the singing skill, so being able to sing to cast buffs is not a strength for the Harmonic Saint but a detriment to class cohesiveness. Instead, the Harmonic skills try to add the base effect of music skills - which are so many times weaker than what Bard's actual buff skills can be. Using a staff or a wand doesn't make Bard buffs much better to use simply because bard buffs are heavily dependent on the strength of your instrument and your gear to provide additional music buff effect. Harmonic Saint, on the other hand, lacks have that cohesiveness and feels disjointed in contrast. The class works like a well-oiled machine, regardless of Arcana Links (which only further enhances its gameplay). In fact, the power only increases due to the way the damage modifiers scale and the simultaneous spell-casting. It's overall a net-positive gain for combining magic and close combat together.ĭue to the way magic attack and max damage can directly affect skills, not much power is lost when you decide to use Elemental Knight skills over pure magic skills. ![]() Plus, due to the way casting works for Elemental Knights, a lot of the MP cost of casting a skill gets skipped - which is definitely helpful when you normally just consume MP and the skill cancels due to knockback (and can also allow you to hold onto Meteor Strike for a long period of time without worrying about MP). ![]() Not to mention, the three elemental stances (Instill Fire/Thunder/Ice) allows them to be able to fight against enemies that can be normally very difficult to fight against. This allows you to skip the cast time that staves have while attacking, thereby letting you erupt a full charge attack without worrying about it being interrupted if you get knocked down or such. I like the two Arcana classes, but the more I play both of them, the more it becomes obvious that Elemental Knight is just better designed than Harmonic Saint in its cohesiveness and leveling process.Įlemental Knight-Įlemental Knight feels much more cohesive as a class - they can allow you to cast intermediate and advanced magics without having a staff equipped while using close combat / Elemental Knight skills. ![]()
